Change doesn’t magically appear. You can vote for it, sure. You can wait for it to happen to you. Or you can create it. You can make the changes you want. How? By choosing different actions today to align with the future you want. I spent a lot of time in my career waiting for the Perfect Time to make a change. I stayed loyal to companies long after my internal expiration date, hoping things would get better after I saw the next project through. Until I realized it was up to me to get out of this trap I’d created for myself. I decided “enough is enough” and started taking immediate action to figure out what I wanted next. I know you too want to unlock more impact, fulfillment, and dare I say cash $$$ in your career — while collaborating with wicked smart teammates on interesting problems. Thing is? Work isn’t your whole life. At least not anymore. You care about having energy to hit the gym daily, be present with family after work, and work on your side projects too. (Plus take lots of PTO so you can finally take that trip to Japan next year.) If you’re miserable on your current path — or aiming to get back to one you care about — now is the Perfect Time to make a new plan of action. Here's what this could look like: I hear all the time, “I’m too busy right now. I’ll be more ready in January.” Will you though? January is busy too. Start of the year, new projects kicking off. Our calendars are constantly packed with activities that don’t move the needle until we decide to make time to prioritize our goals. And that’s why most people stay dissatisfied at work. 15 min/day on your goals is better than nothing. If you’re thinking, “I’m not ready to get a new job now” — that’s perfect, you won’t get one overnight. Especially in this market. Gotta plan ahead...
January 1st is only 55 days away. You have 2 options today:
Time is the 1 resource we can never get back. Q4 isn't a good time to quit your job without a plan, but it’s a great one to set yourself up for Q1 success. If you don’t envy the role of your manager, you’re curious about other paths, or you’re feeling stuck… NOW is the time to figure out what you’re targeting next. If you need help, book a call to see how we can get you there faster. If this was a wake up call to make today your January 1st, reply to this email with, “IT’S TIME”. Share the big goal you're working toward next. I want to celebrate you for taking massive action. Let’s win together,
