Reader, you know those days when you’re running late and suddenly it feels like the entire world has conspired to test your patience? You're 30 min behind schedule in the airport and suddenly EVERYTHING is in your way. That was me today. There’s a lesson in here for you. (It's not about travel) I was packing til midnight last night for my 3-week adventure. First stop: Germany to see Tony Robbins — something that's been on my vision board for 6 years. You’d think I’d be floating through the airport in full “holy shit, I’m living my vision” energy. Instead, I was giving Hot Mess Express. My 6AM Uber couldn't find me. The baggage line was nuts. I had to ask to cut just to get my luggage in on time. Security put every. single. bag. through an extra check for no reason. The Duty Free section felt like a video game obstacle course of flashing lights, makeup counters, and crowds of people standing directly in the path like no one had anywhere to be 🫠 We sat on the runway for 25 min. Bags took over an hour to come out, so I missed my train. So I bought a second $98 train ticket. Then, I spilled a cappuccino ALL over my suitcase trying to haul 2 giant bags up and down 6 escalators trying to find the train. (Shockingly, it was not called the Hot Mess Express) The funniest part is... No matter how many times I checked the time... I did not get to my destination any faster. I arrived just 25 minutes later than expected. HAH. The irony hit me like a slap on the butt. I spent all morning giving my power away to... TRAVEL DELAYS?! What the hell. I know better. And also — this is the work. It's not about being perfect or always “high vibe” because nothing inconvenient ever happens. But noticing the moment you hand your power to something outside of you… And taking it back. FAST. Had I been fully in my power, I would have had a completely different experience. I could have just been chill AF strolling through the airport. I could have been focused on the fact that I’m literally on my way to see Tony freaking Robbins after dreaming about this for 6 years. I could have been celebrating that I was about to meet an online friend and mentor in person for the first time after 2 years of working together. I could have created fun content in the lines instead of staring at the clock. I could have appreciated the opportunity to practice patience vs. pushing my way through every moment. Where in life are you still trying to rush to the outcome so badly that the journey just feels like watching the clock? Everything in life comes back to your PERSPECTIVE. We don't need to be perfect all the time. I'm certainly not. We must choose the more empowering story vs. the disempowering story. The key is NOTICING where you are giving your power away to people, circumstances, rules outside of yourself... So you can take it back, tell a new story, shift your energy And channel that power back into the vision you were born to create. If travel delays can do this, imagine what happens when it’s something that matters much more: I decided once again today: Time to take my f*cking power back. And I’ll be sharing the specific tools I used BTS to do this inside my new LIMITLESS ERA community this week so you can do the same. Back in fall of 2024, I had 30 new clients on my roster, just a few months after launching my new coaching program. Which should have been a MAJOR reason to celebrate. But I felt so anxious, I’d lay horizontal on the couch in my Brooklyn NY sublet apartment, watching Game of Thrones at 2PM on a Thursday just to escape my own mind. I felt so anxious because I derived my self-worth as an entrepreneur from one of two sources - both of them outside myself: (1) new clients coming in, and (2)...
One year ago, I put down $3,410 on an Airbnb to host my first retreat. I had no idea whether anyone would show up or whether I was simply lighting money on fire. It turned out to be one of the best bets I could have made. Maybe you have a leap like that calling you too... but it feels like a huge risk to commit. Maybe you also want to bring your community together in person. You love a good Zoom call, but you know it isn’t the same as sharing physical space. Being seen. Being witnessed....
