I can't believe I used to think this...

I'm going full OOO now for my best friends bachelorette.

6 months ago, this would have sent me reeling:

How can I be fully off as a founder when I haven’t yet reached all of my goals?!

(This is very much how job seekers feel too!!)

There will always be more to do.

And the milestone — that new job, promotion, income goal — always becomes further away when we dread the process

The high that comes from reaching that mountaintop fades in a day or two.

Because the goal is not truly the goal.

We want the FEELING that comes with it.

What if you could create that feeling right now?!

I’ve learned this the hard way after burning out *multiple times* when I focused too much on the end-goal and not enough on my enjoyment of the journey.

Now I know:

When I’m having fun — eating ice cream with my sister, hiking with my girlfriends, staying connected to myself — I am more creative, courageous, and magnetic. It's good for my success — at work, in relationships, in LIFE.

Do not cut off all sources of joy in pursuit of your goals.

JOY raises your frequency and attracts more of what you want into your life.

Teach yoga on the weekends.
Bring your kids to the zoo.
Take a solo trip to revive your spirit.

"Katy, but I can't relax now. I didn't get enough done yet..."

That might be true.

Because perfectionism and overthinking will sneakily drain you of your time, energy, and progress like a thief in the night.

Perhaps this shift will help...

Discipline = Freedom

That's what we're after right?! The feeling of freedom.

When you knock out your biggest needle movers, you feel like you're winning. Even when you can't yet see the end result.

You can relax into knowing you've "done enough" for now, and actually be free to enjoy your free time without the mental load of "what isn't done yet."

When the to-do list never ends, I've found it's helpful to reflect on what we DID accomplish.

Create a Wins list for yourself. List everything you accomplished.

I'm planning to go into full joy mode this weekend AND I can actually relax because I am proud of how I showed up this week.

Here's my Wins list from the past 3 days...

(small glimpse of founder life in a season of stretch + a sneak peek of what's coming...)

  • Onboarded new clients & hosted some powerful group coaching calls (see picture)
  • Celebrated our community members starting brand new dream roles!!! 🤑
  • Set up a fireside chat with an executive recruiter for my community in 2 weeks
  • Scheduled an event with the Old Girls Club
  • Kicked off a mini brand strategy sprint with a designer
  • Started interviewing for a kickass new role on my team
  • Gave feedback to my YouTube editor for the client case studies we're launching
  • Built new systems & delegated to my executive assistant
  • Healed deep-rooted subconscious beliefs with my healer Kiki
  • Fleshed out my next big bet program (cannot forking wait!!)
  • And started planning my first in-person event for this fall... 🤫

While spending quality time with my family & keeping up my daily meditation streak (10/100 days down)

This was a lot. Now, I can close my laptop knowing I played full-out.

Don't get me wrong...

I’ve spent plenty of days feeling like I didn't do enough, like I'm "behind" the made up timeline I have for my life (which is bullshit), letting the shame spiral of procrastination stop me from doing what I need to do to move forward.

But when you commit to a career vision that lights you up
To identifying where you have gaps & closing them
To building a Stand Out story and getting visible

You make powerful progress and still enjoy your life.
You can feel the freedom now — not when you “get there.”

This is exactly what we do in my program.

We do the inner and outer work to become the version of you who has the career you want.
And we do it in a way that energizes you from day 1.

The work we do is magic and there is no other container like this one.

That's why our members consistently land dream roles that light them up from the inside out.

Apply to join us if you are ready to do the same.

We’re just getting started...

There is so much more to come— whether you're looking to get clarity on your career vision, land your next role asap, or to succeed in your career and step into what's truly possible for you.

If this lit a fire in you today, reply and let me know what shifted. I'll reply when I'm back in office ✌️

With love,

P.S. Dropped a few hints in here about what’s coming next… If you're ready to build the kind of career (and life) that lights you up from the inside out, stay tuned 🔥

I’ve seen a lot of debate on LinkedIn recently about how not everyone’s cut out to be an entrepreneur. It grinds my gears because it assumes we are incapable of evolving. “Building your own thing is challenging… and it’s the wrong move for most people.” That may be true… and it’s also wildly discouraging to people with big dreams who have a lot of fear about going full-force toward them. Or anyone who's dared to wonder, "What if..?" This was me. Thank God I listened to mentors who showed me...
